I will be your preacher teacher

November 16, 2011

Hold the preaching. Except when it comes to pressing.

I’m so, so happy to announce that I’ll be teaching a couple of upcoming classes at Grey’s Fabric and Notions, right in Boston’s South End. I’ve been in love with this place since discovering Sarah Grey, sewing maven and shop owner, hosted the local BurdaStyle sewing club every Wednesday evening. She has been gracious enough to let me helm two classes in December. So, if you’re in the area, sign up now! Space is limited to 6 per session, and prices are danged reasonable.

You’ll find me at:

  • Zippy Sampler class on December 10, 12-3 pm, where you’ll learn several important hand stitches and zipper installation techniques, and be able to take your samplers home for reference. Perfect for brushing up, moving on to couture, and learning to love how relaxing hand sewing can be.
  • Stitched Gifts: Apron class on December 22, 6-9 pm, where you’ll make a cute apron just in time for holiday gift giving. It can be as simple or as embellished as you like, and if you’d prefer a more gender-neutral apron, make sure to purchase yardage for the full version (Grey’s has an awesome selection, wink).

So come on in, have fun, learn, create, relax in the middle of the holiday chaos!!!

That’s awesome Lavender!! Wish I could be there…. It’s a long airplane ride for a 3 hour class, but totally worth it!!!
    People should sign up quickly!

Aw, mannnn! Nothing cool ever happens in my town- we need to move SC closer to Boston. Who can I write to about that?
